Yoga Breathing has been around for centuries, and came into circulation around the 12th century in India and became known as pranayama (vital life force) yoga, in Sanskrit.
Today yoga breathing has become even more popular post covid and used as a tool for self-care.
Yoga Breathing has scientifically been proven to help the Nervous System, which is responsible for our breathing, walking, thinking and feeling.
Our Nervous System, is connected to the brain and spinal cord and all the nerves of the body.
Yoga Breathing enables us more control over our breath as we learn to “manipulate” the natural exchange between Co2 and Oxygen.
There are three main categories of breathing, which are ideally done in the Morning, Afternoon and Evening.

Breathing Categories
Coffee category: Breath of Fire: Morning Breathing Technique
This breathing technique is typically done in the morning and is used to boost energy levels, and is great before a morning workout it stimulates the sympathetic nervous system
Water Category: 4:4: This breathing technique is used to balance the nervous system, just like water it can be used anytime of the day and is beneficial to balance the nervous system if one is felling low on energy or to increase one’s energy.
Whisky Category: 4:8 This breathing technique is ideally used in the evening to help aid the parasympathetic systems and aid the rest, relax and digestive systems, a perfect breathing exercise to help deep sleep and combat insomnia and aid digestion.
Your Breath Course will be delivered by Maame Opoku, the Co- founder of MamaSia she also carries accreditation in Herbalism, Beauty Therapy, Yoga Breathing and Wellness Coaching.
Maame is a member of the Yoga Alliance Organisation and is AFAA, CCE approved and personally enjoys all aspects of wellness and has been doing so for over 15years.
